Lina Alsahan is a computer engineer/ M.Sc. in Cybersecurity with three years of hands-on experience in Blockchain technology, Networking, and Cybersecurity. She started studying Blockchain in 2018 through her senior project. Following her graduation, she held a position at the Smart Communication Networks and Systems Lab at HBKU as a Research Assistant for two years.
Lina is well experienced in both public and permissioned Blockchains, as she studied, designed, and developed multiple solutions using diverse Blockchain platforms. From her position at HBKU, she developed a Bitcoin network simulator that enables building a local Blockchain network using virtualization techniques. The simulator received considerable attention from the research community as it provides significant benefits for experimenting and analyzing Blockchain technology. As an extension to her work on the Bitcoin simulator, she researched a new design of the Bitcoin protocol that enables an environmental-friendly mining network.
Lina holds a BS degree in Computer Engineering from Qatar University (2019) and a Master’s degree in Cybersecurity from HBKU (2021).
